Tely turns to Ciena for capacity boost
Tely, a telecommunications company in João Pessoa, Brazil, operates a nationwide fiber-optic network of more than 20,000km that traverses 200 cities in 11 states, providing wholesale connectivity to ISPs, tier 1 operators, government entities, and private companies. Tely offers services including internet, LAN, colocation, cloud computing, spectrum sharing, fiber swap, and more.
To address rising traffic volumes between the critical hubs of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Tely is leveraging Ciena’s Waveserver Ai compact interconnect platform to expand its transmission capacity. The coherent optical solution utilizes 400GB transponders, providing the network provider with massive scalability and support for continuous traffic growth and optimization in terms of cost and power per bit. And what’s more, Waveserver Ai’s operational simplicity allows Tely to get traffic up and running quickly.
“Ciena’s solution allows us to meet the surging capacity needs of our customers’ most demanding cloud applications and data services,” said Leonardo Lins, CEO of Tely. “With zero scalability constraints, we’re able to transport more capacity over any distance with the high performance, quality of service, and reliability that our customers require—and do so cost effectively.”
