The Ciena Insights Podcast - Episode 34: East Meets West: How Submarine Cables and Data Centers Deliver Resilient Connectivity

I was referred to this Podcast by a colleague. A few years ago I was responsible for the planning of the NEPAD Infrastructure Broadband Network (NIBN) as it was known as then. The network had two components to it, a submarine component and a terrestrial component. Through NEPAD (a structure within the African Union) the project was endorsed by all signatory African member states. In hindsight we would have benefitted from these insights and the symbiosis between Data centres and the network as a model where the Submarine component would/could "land" at a data centre and be accessible to the terrestrial component. Currently however, I am working on designing a network(s) that will allow for the seamless interconnection, and integration of local "hubs" scattered across a number of areas/countries/regions. The initial Focus was for health facilities, but as you know the beneficiaries are far broader. Would it be possible to engage with you on this?
