Greg Friesen is Vice President of Global Services and Support at Ciena. Greg is responsible for driving topline growth in advanced services and overall growth in the services business. He leads the global service organization and the network infrastructure experts who support our customers with network health and business insights. Greg also oversees the betterment of our customer’s experience through service and support around the globe.

Previously Greg was the Vice President of Product Line Management where he was responsible for the development and introduction of Ciena’s converged packet optical and packet networking solutions including the 6500, 8700, 5400, and Waveserver products. Greg has 20 years of experience in senior product management roles, network design, planning, and engineering, including his most recent role at DragonWave where he served as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, and sat on the Board of Directors for DragonWave HFCL India. Previously, Greg has held product management and network planning roles at Innovance Network and Nortel Networks. Greg has a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Saskatchewan and holds four granted patents in the optical networking area.
