Cyan’s Blue Planet Platform Named "SDN Innovation of the Year"

Cyan (NYSE: CYNI), a leading provider of software-defined networking (SDN) and packet-optical solutions for network operators, today announced that its Blue Planet SDN and NFV Orchestration Platform won the distinction of "SDN Innovation of the Year" in the 2013 Telecom Asia Readers’ Choice & Innovation Awards. Cyan’s selection is based on Blue Planet’s market traction (over 100 deployments worldwide) and the platform’s ability to address multi-layer, multi-vendor WAN, data center, and NFV orchestration challenges for network operators.

Now in its 6th year, Telecom Asia’s awards program recognizes the technology innovations and accomplishments of the top telecom vendors operating in the Asia Pacific region. This year, Telecom Asia increased its focus on suppliers whose products and services help telcos find new ways to partner, test new business models and compete in the digital economy. Preliminary nominations were open to analysts, consultants and telco executives in September, and final voting was open to Telecom Asia’s online subscriber base of service providers across Asia in October 2013.
